Federal International business unit Federal Foam Technologies (FFT) has acquired HSM Solutions’ foam fabrication facility in Hiddenite, North Carolina. The acquisition extends FFT’s manufacturing footprint into the Southeast and adds regional capacity to serve customers throughout the area.
What the Hiddenite Acquisition Means for FFT Customers
The Hiddenite facility brings an experienced team, established customer relationships, and additional operational resources into the FFT network. For customers, that means more regional manufacturing support and continued access to FFT’s engineering, fabrication, and customer-focused solutions across North America.

Building on Decades of Manufacturing Growth
Hiddenite is the latest chapter in a growth story that dates back to 1983, when Federal International acquired Airtex Industries in Minnesota, which became Federal Foam Technologies in 1991. Since then, FFT has built a ground-up manufacturing plant in New Richmond, Wisconsin, acquired a plant in Northwood, Iowa, and expanded its New Richmond campus to add capacity.
